Corporate legal advisory: counsel beside the decision
A lawyer who knows your company, answers within the agreed time and takes part in decisions before they turn into problems.
Most disputes that end up in court began with a decision taken without advice: a clause accepted under pressure, a dismissal handled badly, a product launched without checking the sector's rules. Corporate legal advisory exists to reverse that order and put the analysis before the act.
Our model is continuous support: one lawyer responsible for your account, who knows the history, the contracts and the culture of the company. You stop explaining the business from scratch with every request and start receiving useful answers instead of generic ones.
When this service is the answer
The company decides first and asks later
Contracts signed without review, promotions launched without checks, dismissals handled on hearsay. By the time legal is involved, fixing it costs more than preventing it would have.
Nobody knows who to ask
The question circulates between finance, HR and the board, nobody decides and the matter stalls. Having no defined legal contact costs time and produces improvised decisions.
Small matters pile up
Reviewing a supplier contract, answering a notice, understanding a regulator's requirement. On their own they look simple; together they become risk and lost business.
What you receive
Initial assessment of the operation
In the first weeks we map current contracts, known liabilities, employment routines and the regulatory requirements of your sector. You receive a document listing the risk points in order of priority.
A named lawyer and a direct channel
One lawyer runs your account and answers through the channel your company uses, with a response time agreed in the engagement and priority for matters with a running deadline.
Review of contracts and documents
Review and drafting of the contracts behind your operation, marking what has to change, what is negotiable and what is acceptable risk. You get the revised version and an explanation of the changes.
Support for day-to-day decisions
Regular meetings with management and with each area to address what is coming: a new product, a new market, a new hire, a new regulatory requirement.
Litigation prevention
When a situation has the potential to become a lawsuit, we act first: a notice, a settlement, a change of routine or a corrected document, with a record of what was done.
Periodic status report
An overview of what was handled in the period, what is pending and what needs a decision from the company. No legal black box.
Why work with us
The person answering knows your business
We deliberately keep few clients per lawyer, so that the answer reflects the company's real context and not only the text of the statute.
Genuinely multidisciplinary
Corporate, labor, real estate, regulatory and litigation inside the same firm. You do not have to stitch together opinions from different practices.
Language your board understands
Our documents say what to do, in what order and at what risk. Full legal reasoning is there, but it never replaces a clear recommendation.
Frequently asked questions
How is corporate legal advisory billed in Brazil?
The most common model is a fixed monthly fee with the scope defined in the engagement letter: estimated volume of matters, response times and areas covered. Work outside that scope, such as a new lawsuit, is quoted separately and always approved before it starts. There are no surprise charges.
My company is small. Is ongoing legal advice worth it?
Usually yes, because smaller companies have less margin to absorb a mistake. The scope is sized to the company: a business with few contracts and a lean team pays for proportionate support. The first conversation exists precisely to assess whether the cost makes sense in your case.
How quickly do you answer a question?
Response times are agreed in the engagement and vary with complexity. Straightforward questions are usually answered the same or the next business day. Matters with a statutory deadline running take priority and are handled immediately, provided they are flagged as urgent.
Can this replace an in-house legal department in Brazil?
For many companies it can, particularly where the volume does not justify an internal structure. For companies that already have in-house counsel, we work as specialist support in the areas the team does not cover, such as regulatory, iGaming or complex litigation, alongside the general counsel.
Do you advise companies headquartered outside Brazil?
Yes. The firm is based in Recife and serves clients across Brazil and abroad. Advisory work is conducted by video conference and digital channels, with in-person meetings where the matter justifies it. Court acts in other states are handled with local counsel.
